The best thing about traveling is visiting and trying out the well known restaurants locals rave about! Every city has their popular hidden treasures. When some of my college friends and I went to San Diego, we hit up 2 restaurants that both are known to serve quality food for a really good price.
Rubicon Deli: famous for their sandwiches. They make sandwiches that have unique ingredient combinations. For a whole sandwich it's about 8 dollars but I say it's totally worth it because of the HUUGGEEE portions they give you. Even eating half is already fulfilling.
We can't be in San Diego and NOT try to find the best MEXICAN restaurant! I have some friends who live down there, and we told them we wanted to eat the ultimate best california burrito. My friend Adrianne lead us to Luche Libre. The huge burrito was around 5 dollars. You get chips on the side and they have a huge selection of salsa. The restaurant screamed NACHO LIBRE to me. It was hot pink everywhere with gold accents and tons of pictures of luchadors and their infamous masks. But back to the food: the california burrito was to die for. The meat was cooked really well, tender and juicy. The next time you go down to SD, you definitely need to hit this place up
