Les Amis
As many of you may know, Downtown Fullerton is known for their many hidden restaurants. And I don't know about you, but I love trying new things! I really need to try out more ethnic food. It really is interesting how each culture plays with different ingredients, and it's like you've never tasted such flavors before!
Anyway, Tricia and I went to Les Amis a Lebanese restaurant hidden in a parking lot off of Amerige. They have a beautiful front yard. The blooming flowers planted in the front and the plenty of seating area completes the elaborate decoration they have inside. The walls, which is probably my favorite part of this restaurant cuz it reminds me of my own room, is painted in mustard yellow and orchard purple accented by gold picture frames, lamps, candles. It's really intimate inside and each table is unique, so there is always something new to look at. They even have tons of books to read. OH! and they sell Hookah! It's a pretty cool restaurant. I encourage you to come here just to hang out or even have a full dinner.
For starters, they gave us hummus and pita chips, and we finally ordered a salad, good to share with another person, called Fattoush. It is a medley of vegetables, baked pita, mint parsley, tossed in fresh lemon juice, olive oil and summac)
For the main course we both ordered a mini Falafel. (Deep fried fava and garbanzo bean mix, flavored with herbs and spice, served with a medley of vegetables and homemade taratour). Who would have ever thought bean curd tasted so good? ahahah
