My pilipino friends and I had an adventure in Pasadena this past Saturday. We went to Pasadena's music festival, Make Music Pasadena. I call it a mini Coachella because everyone was dressed up as if they were going to some hippie festival at the desert and wearing bathing suits. NOT HATING.... AAHAHA. Anyway we went there to go watch Cult and Grouplove
We got free slushies from mcdonalds which were surprisingly delicious n refreshing. There were a bunch of food booths and areas where people can dance freely. We went to go watch Cult and Grouplove at the "indie stage". ahah wait weren't all the music they were playing indie? The sound system wasn't too hot, but the weather on the other hand was!
We cooled down a bit and got coffee and tea at Inteligencia. The last time I got this coffee, I swear I was drunk because I was literally shaking from all the caffeine in it.
WOOHOO WE'RE FINALLY AT THE IMPORTANT PART.
We were waiting all day to try out Lemonade. I love the layout of the place and of the color theme. Of course they would have yellow. The kept the place very simple with their wooden tables and seats, and bright yellow lights. It made me feel like I was outside at the park enjoying my fresh food. It's definitely like a cafeteria kind of ordering. You stand in a line and you pretty much pick and choose what you want. Depending on how many things you order, the price just keeps adding up. duh. I am just warning you because it can get quite expensive.
I wasn't sure what I was expecting out of the food. The ingredients they put together on the menu all sounded good, and it was! I was a little thrown off, some of the things they put on there didn't taste like what I thought it would. But maybe my tastebuds are finally recognizing the difference between healthy and unhealthy food. ahah My favorite part of my meal would have to be the mac n cheese and the kale salad. I never realized how spicy kale was. You probably have to blanch them a little or maybe it's the kind of kale you use that will determine how spicy it is. the truffle mac n cheese was so creamy and cheesy. JUST HOW I LIKE IT!
But most importantly the variety of lemonades they had were amazing! I never thought I could make a blueberry mint lemonade or a watermelon rosemary. The ingredients sound interesting together huh?
I'd definitely say to visit this place, if you're a big fan of fresh food and unique recipes. Like I said, it can get quite pricey if you're trying to get everything! I suggest that you order 1 portion, a side, and a main entree. With lemonade the total of your plate will be around 18 dollars. Not my cup of tea, BUT I am always willing to spend a little more if I am trying out a new place. Hope you enjoy the pictures :)
look how cute the tables are! they have little lemons engraved on the sides. ahah
