I introduce to you the Ol Bleu Burger. It sure made my breath STANK but it made my tummy happy heheh. This monster with a bowl of vegetable soup was only $11. Any meal there is worth getting cuz their portions are ridiculously huge!
The place is decorated with the pictures of the classic italianos like Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Robert De Niro, Al Pacino and more. To complete the ambiance the cafe plays the music of the 50s era! I couldn't stop bobbing my head and singing while I was stuffing my face. Haha. It was a cool spot to visit and I recommend you visiting it too if you're out in Corona. This is a perfect spot to dine with the young and ol' folks. Woohoo happy stuffing!

Farrell's Ice Cream Parlour Restaurant
Birch street is lighting up with their new attraction. A Farrell's Ice Cream Parlour recently opened here right before the new year. Man, I tell you it was crazy how quickly they got this place together. I could have sworn that they started building this place just a month before. But it's definitely catching a lot of attention. (What's up with Birch street??? It's blowing up with awesome eateries!!!!)
There's a huge line outside every night. When I visited the place, I realized why the line seems so long is because there's actually two! One line for to-go ice cream and the other to be seated.
The place is complete chaos! Sirens are off, drums are banging, cowbells are ringing! They announce to the entire restaurant if it's your birthday or if you ordered something super crazy. It was cool to hear it a few times, but when theyre singing every minute, it became a headache. I'm guessing it's only because it recently opened, but man it was a tad obnoxious.
The food is pretty decent. I got the gastro something somethin something something sandwich with a side of onion strings. It was pretttttyyy good! I only say its decent, because for the price and for the hype of that name, the size of the sandwich did not match up ahaha. I liked it, but my friend Amanda didn't seem too impressed.
The ice cream was good. I ordered the ice cream nachos which had 3 kinds of ice cream: vanilla with blueberry, mint chocolate, and chocolate chip smothered in chocolate syrup and waffle crumbles.
I think you guys should try this place out! Definitely a family restaurant. If you don't like being bothered while you're eating... then EH ahaha; nonetheless you should go for the experience

Bacon wrapped dates
I realized that I really enjoy appetizers and other finger foods because they are so easy to assemble! Bacon wrapped dates is a very easy appetizer to put together. It's definitely something you can substitute other ingredients for like using different cheese or different kind of bacon.
First I split open the dates, then stuffed it with cheese. Using cheese that had a strong flavor I realized works best like sharp cheddar, goat cheese or blue cheese. The sweetness of the date balances out the overwhelming flavor of the cheese. I split a long slice of bacon in half and wrapped one half around the date. I held it together with a toothpick.
After assembling them on the pan. I broiled the dates for 5-7 min on each side.
Enjoy!

Raspberry tarts
I wanted to give something to Iz's parents for christmas so I thought some homemade goodies would be nice to make. I really wanted to make raspberry tarts from scratch but the market ran out of whipping cream, so I couldn't make the custard!!! This called for some changes. I just used vanilla pudding instead. I thought adding lemon zest in the pudding would be a good idea but it left this bitter taste on my tongue. I just left the pudding alone and added just a little bit of sugar, topped it off with fruit (I used raspberry and blueberry) and dusted powdered sugar.
The only thing that made this process long was making my own dough fr scratch and assembling it in the little baking dishes.
It was soo yummy! But I really need to learn how to make the custard shouldnt be too hard. Any of you have custard suggestions??
