Burger Parlor
What's up y'all. I know it's been a while since I last posted, but no worries I've been eating a bunch a delicious food all this time!
I know there's a lot of hype about Umami Burger. Although really good, the price is not so tasty! Haha. I would definitely not go to Umami Burger on a regular, mostly because I'm not rich enough to afford that all the time but there is a sweet spot in Downtown Fullerton... I know I'm obsessed with this place but that's where I'm from!... This place called Burger Parlor that's really good for people who like the quality of umami but want to pay less !!! It's still a bit pricey but you're paying for the 100% handcrafted burger that is made with really good meat, solid and fresh ingredients and flavors. The quality of the burger is worth paying for.
If you're looking to order a burger and fries, you'll be spending around $10-$11. It's smart to share fries if you're eating with a friend. Those puppies are huge. Oh! And their house ketchup has a special kick to it! I'm gonna guess they put a little bit of wasabi to give it spice.
In this picture, you have the Danish Bleu. A nicely medium cooked patty (so it definitely has the juices), topped with Bleu cheese, arugula, caramelized onions as mushrooms.
They have this sweet combo deal, if you just text 90210 and type "burger parlor", you get a combo discount. The total of this bad boy was $10.50. Not bad! NOT BAD AT ALL. It doesn't look there is enough fries but trust me, it's enough. The flavors of the burger make you super full. Haha
OKAY, and I know arugula sounds odd to put in a burger cuz we're so used to seeing in in salads but trust me, it's the perfect partner for a burger.
I hope you guys try this out!!!!

Cucina
A sweet restaurant Tricia and I stumbled upon while we were walking around irvine spectrum. We were struggling with deciding where to eat. Cucina looked like it was popular, we checked inside and we were taken away! All I can say is that I will for sure come back here in the near future.
Known for three things: the beautiful decoration, wine, and their menu.

OC Poultry and Rotisserie Market
Went to Laguna Beach a few weekends ago. The hot, blazing sun got us sooo hungry, so Joe took us to this sweet hole in the wall viet place in Anaheim. I love how we can find delicious, random restaurants through yelp. Yeup, Joe found a gold mine through yelp. Probably one of the best viet sandwich places I've been (although I haven't been to many haha) but it sure does beat The famous Lee's Sandwiches in quality and in price!
The most interesting thing about this place is that they're famous for putting scrambled eggs. Omg

Mushroom Sandwich
If you know me, you know my obsession with portobello sandwiches. It's practically all I eat If it's on the menu. Instead of paying a ridiculous amount of money to eat this sandwich I bought the ingredients from my Fav, trader joes and have been making my all time favorite this past week.
You can use any mushroom, just sauté them with onions in soy sauce. After, add the Sundried tomatoes. I mixed the Arugula in balsamic vinegar and topped it with feta cheese. Eat it with bread of your choice
Yes these are 3 different times I've eaten this sandwich. That's already 30 dollars if i ordered at a restaurant!!

Lemonade
My pilipino friends and I had an adventure in Pasadena this past Saturday. We went to Pasadena's music festival, Make Music Pasadena. I call it a mini Coachella because everyone was dressed up as if they were going to some hippie festival at the desert and wearing bathing suits. NOT HATING.... AAHAHA. Anyway we went there to go watch Cult and Grouplove
We got free slushies from mcdonalds which were surprisingly delicious n refreshing. There were a bunch of food booths and areas where people can dance freely. We went to go watch Cult and Grouplove at the "indie stage". ahah wait weren't all the music they were playing indie? The sound system wasn't too hot, but the weather on the other hand was!
We cooled down a bit and got coffee and tea at Inteligencia. The last time I got this coffee, I swear I was drunk because I was literally shaking from all the caffeine in it.
WOOHOO WE'RE FINALLY AT THE IMPORTANT PART.
We were waiting all day to try out Lemonade. I love the layout of the place and of the color theme. Of course they would have yellow. The kept the place very simple with their wooden tables and seats, and bright yellow lights. It made me feel like I was outside at the park enjoying my fresh food. It's definitely like a cafeteria kind of ordering. You stand in a line and you pretty much pick and choose what you want. Depending on how many things you order, the price just keeps adding up. duh. I am just warning you because it can get quite expensive.
I wasn't sure what I was expecting out of the food. The ingredients they put together on the menu all sounded good, and it was! I was a little thrown off, some of the things they put on there didn't taste like what I thought it would. But maybe my tastebuds are finally recognizing the difference between healthy and unhealthy food. ahah My favorite part of my meal would have to be the mac n cheese and the kale salad. I never realized how spicy kale was. You probably have to blanch them a little or maybe it's the kind of kale you use that will determine how spicy it is. the truffle mac n cheese was so creamy and cheesy. JUST HOW I LIKE IT!
But most importantly the variety of lemonades they had were amazing! I never thought I could make a blueberry mint lemonade or a watermelon rosemary. The ingredients sound interesting together huh?
I'd definitely say to visit this place, if you're a big fan of fresh food and unique recipes. Like I said, it can get quite pricey if you're trying to get everything! I suggest that you order 1 portion, a side, and a main entree. With lemonade the total of your plate will be around 18 dollars. Not my cup of tea, BUT I am always willing to spend a little more if I am trying out a new place. Hope you enjoy the pictures :)
look how cute the tables are! they have little lemons engraved on the sides. ahah

Green Street Restaurant in Pasadena
Mrs. Dominguez has been waiting to take me out for my birthday! We were finally able to find time to go out to lunch this past Sunday. She always raved about Green Street Restaurant in Pasadena; I wanted to know what the buzz was all about!
Brittney, Melinda, and I
Mrs. D!
zucchini bread! Bits and pieces of zucchini in carrot bread.
Let's start with some chips and guac!
Of course! I had to get soup. One of my favorites TOMATO BISQUE. I really enjoyed this one. There will little bites of tomato! and the sourdough bread was perfect to dip into the soup.
Melinda ordered the STEPHANS SANDWICH: Fresh breast of chicken with sauteed mushrooms, onions, avocado, sour cream and cheese on grilled sourdough 12.95
Mrs. D's favorite salad, DIANNE: Green Street's famous dressing tossed with tender white, moist chicken, crisp Asian noodles, toasted almonds, sesame seeds and crisp, cold shredded lettuce 11.95
Brittney's GAUCHO SANDWICH: Chipotle seasoned chicken breast, charbroiled. With avocado, lettuce on a ciabatta roll with chimchurri mayonnaise 12.50
So, I was torn between two dishes, one of them being my favorite the Portabello Sandwich, but I decided to switch it up a little bit. Cuz I am sure you're tired of seeing pictures of the same food ahah. This my friends is the RIGATONI WITH SQUASH, SAUSAGE, AND GOAT CHEESE.
A pretty self explanatory dish! Sauteed squash and crumbled italian sausage tossed together with rigatoni and goat cheese. 12.95 AMAZING. If you like goat cheese, you'll really like this pasta.
I totally forgot that we came to this restaurant to celebrate my birthday, I was caught off guard when they brought out my ice cream. But isn't it so pretty!
After being so stuffed, I still wanted eat some more! Jk But we walked around Old Town Pasadena. I was too stoked when I saw that there was a Cheese Store.
cheese on cheese on cheese!
Me being stupid.
legit telephone booth!
