Korean BBQ

This week has been filled with indulgences. Left and right, I have been fulfilling my cravings and another one of them is KOREAN BBQ. It was a girls lunch date with Denise, Michelle, and Amanda. We went all the way to Lakewood to eat KBBQ at Dae Bak Korean Restaurant. $10.99 ALL YOU CAN EAT!! ISN'T THAT AMAZING?! yeeeee.

Service was really bad this time. I'm guessing that it was due to the lack of staff they had. Every time we wanted a refill of something, they would just say a quick "okay" and not come back for another 30 minutes! But other than that, I can't complain how good the brisket is. sooo good. I enjoy being able to cook your own food at your own table. Something about cooking your own that is more satisfying. :) After 4 full plates of beef, we were dunzo.

The next time you want to have lunch with a few friends, take them out to a Korean BBQ Restaurant. Totally worth it :)

Barbara's Victorian Teahouse

Mrs. D invited us to get tea at Barbara's Victorian Teahouse in Rancho Cucamonga. Thinking that I was going to a regular, ordinary tea house, my jaw literally dropped when i went inside. Mrs. D had talked about the place, but dang! she sure wasn't lying about how ornate this place was. If you really want to experience drinking tea at a fancy place. Barbara's Victorian Teahouse is the place to go. They practice the rules and etiquette of drinking tea.

Here we are! This pic was taken after picking our hats. Amanda had the most hilarious one. Dressing up was the cherry on top to this experience.

There's different kinds of menus that consist of different food options. We got the $20 value which included four assorted sandwiches, scone, dessert, salad, mixed fruit, and unlimited choices of tea.

Our table was already set up when we arrived. This teahouse only takes reservations. They buy the ingredients the night before according to the reservations and the amount of people attending teatime the next day.

I was amazed about how many teasets Barbara has, because she literally had hundreds on each table in the house, each set unique and decorated in their own special way. She has always loved teasets, has collected them over the years, and some are even donated.

The lovely Mrs. Dominguez

Amanda and the most ridiculous tea hat in the house

Me, being silly as usual. Ugh that wrist band makes the picture so ugly.

here's are table! Our first two teas were Vanilla Almond, and Apple Cinnamon. They provided us with milk, sugar, and honey on the side.

So, there was a proper order to eating our food. First we enjoyed our Raspberry Vinegrette Salad

Then we moved on with our fresh fruit warm scone with mock devonshire cream, preserves, and lemon curd

Next, we ate our four assorted tea sandwiches sandwiches which included an egg salad sandwich, cucumber sandwich, tomato basil pesto, and a tuna sandwich. We refilled our teapots with new flavors to pair off with our food. With the sandwiches we tried out Orange Spice.

Lastly, our dessert! Chocolate covered strawberry, white chocolate, lemon pastry, and a shortbread with fruit filling cookie. Paired our dessert with Strawberry Peach tea.

We talked for hours! But it was really nice to just relax and drink some tea while discussing the difficult life of being a woman! ahah After 2 hours of filling our stomachs with food and our bladders with tea, we finally finished and walked around the house

The place was filled with antiques tea sets and christmas decor. lots of jewelry and accessories to try on and purchase. We went upsatirs and they were even selling vintage clothing!

Overall, going to this teahouse was such a great experience. It definitely taught me to appreciate the simple things in life like having true meaningful conversation over some tea and to really savor the moments you spend with the people you love! I hope the outfits don't scare you into trying this place out. It definitely is a wonderful and humbling experience.

The Boiling Crab

As I have mentioned before, Summer is my favorite season. It is my prime season of dressing up!! I am the jeans and t-shirt kind of girl, butI like to play around with the style. Yesterday, I wore my favorite jeans with a lace top by Anna Sui I shopped from my mom's closet. I mathed it with caramel wedges i bought from Urban Outfitters and added a little color using my scarf I had borrowed from my mom's closet.

Anyway, the most important thing is where I ate! I LOVE BOILING CRAB. Ever since I have been introduced to this restaurant, The BC has been one of the few cravings I have along with In-N-Out and Yogurtland. It has gotten very popular among the Asian community, especially in Garden Grove and cities around it. People travel miles to eat the delicious food they have here. It's so popular that sometimes there is a 2 hour wait! They expanded the restaurant, and even after that it continues to be crowded until closing time. But what makes Boiling Crab so desirable? For me, what brings me back wanting for more is their shrimp! and the famous marinade they mix it with called "The Whole Shabang" which includes: chops of garlic, butter, lemon, cajun sauce. Heat varies according to preference: none, mild, medium, hot. Pair your shrimp with some cajun fries, and it's celebration of flavors in your mouth. Ever since I started eating here, I believe that it has become one of the must go to spots in So Cal. No doubt I would bring anyone out of town to this restaurant. It's different, good vibes, good food.

TK Burger!

I love summer. It's my favorite time of the year, because I get to wear pretty outfits, show off a little skin, hang out with all the friends I've made throughout my life! Yesterday, was my first time at the beach this summer. It was a lot of fun, but the only negative was getting sun burnt. NOT the business. Israel's back is practically RED! Had to lather a thick layer of Aloe Vera. Poor thing. He's having a hard time just doing regular things. Hopefully his entire back will heal soon. ahah

We went to TK Burger off of PCH and Beach Blvd. at Huntington Beach! It was too delicious! You want a quality, Socal burger, go to TK Burger. A combo with cheeseburger, fries, and a drink is around 6 dollars. A little more expensive that In-N-Out, but totally worth it. Next time you go to the beach, this is the place to eat. Too bad I don't have pictures of the food, but just know it was juicy and delicious.
